HC takes serious note of tampering in murder case record

Allahabad, Oct 26 (UNI) Allahabad High Court has taken serious note of the tampering of the original records concerning a murder case in the Kaushambi district court.

According to a report sent to the HC by the Kaushambi district judge, the statements of complainant witnesses had been tampered with.

Taking the incident in judicial proceedings as a serious matter, Justice Ravindra Singh directed district and sessions judge, Kaushambi to look into the matter thoroughly and submit report within a month.

The court directed that criminal proceedings shall be initiated against the persons involved in tampering with the original records.

The court passed this order on a bail application filed by one Gulshad.

The court also asked the district and sessions judge to explain the circumstances in which such a serious case had been transferred for hearing in the court of Kaushambi additional sessions judge.

The district judge, in spite of knowing that the original records of a murder case had been tampered with had, transferred the case to the court of additional sessions judge.

Fixing the case for orders on November 20, the court has directed that in the meantime the judgement of the session trial shall not be delivered till further orders from the HC.

Meanwhile, the sessions judge has been asked to hear the case.
