Gunfire breaks out near prison in Congo's capital
KINSHASA, Oct 26 (Reuters) Gunfire rang out near a prison in Congo's capital today, cranking up tensions ahead of the final round of historic elections in the central African country.
A Reuters reporter near Kinshasa's central prison heard bursts of gunfire in the middle of the day. Earlier this week, more than a dozen people jailed for the 2001 assassination of Congolese President Laurent Kabila vanished from the prison.
