Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 26 (UNI) The Kerala Government today decided to take immediate steps for acquiring the land required for the Karippur airport.
A decision in this regard was taken at a high-level meeting, presided over by Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan, a release said here.
A total of 162 acre of land would be acquired for the purpose and the acqusition process, would be carried out through the fast track system.
The meeting was also attended by Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem, Revenue Minister K P Rajendran, Malappuram District Collector K S Premachandra Kurup and Karippur Airport Director Veeraswamy, the release added.
