Govt to hold talks with transporters

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 26 (UNI) Kerala Transport Minister Mathew T Thomas today said that the government will hold talks with transporters who are to go on strike from October 30 on the issue of compulsory installation of speed governors for buses and trucks.

Replying to a submission, the Minister said that though the use of speed governors in heavy vehicles has been made compulsory in the state by the court, it is not applicable in other states.

Necessary modifications should have to be made in the Central Motor Vehicles Rules to solve the crisis, he added.
