Gail's Dahej-Vijaipur pilpeline bags award from IPMA

New Delhi, Oct 26 (UNI) Gail India Ltd today announced that its Dahej Vijaipur Pipeline (DVPL) Project has been awarded the silver medal in the Mega Projects category by the International Project Management Association (IPMA).

From among the Indian Companies, which had participated for the mega projects category of IPMA World Congress at Shanghai, the project has been rated as the best executed project.

The project has already been recognised as 'a brilliantly executed project' by the NPMP (National Petroleum Management Programme) Award 2005 in the Enterprise Category.

DVPL is the largest diameter cross country onshore pipeline for transportation of high pressure gas so far executed in India. The pipeline passes through Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

It comprises 610 KM trunk pipeline of 47 inch diameter and has a throughput capacity of 23 MMSCMD which can be upgraded to 45 MMSCMD with the installation of intermediate compressor stations at Jhabua and Vijaipur.
