Dozen of shops gutted in fire in Uttaranchal

Dehradun, Oct 26: A dozen of shops and a godown were gutted in a fire that broke aut at the main bazar of Rudraprayg district of Uttaranchal. No casualties have been reported. The Administration has, however estimated loss of property amounting to more than 61 lakh rupees.

According to the District Administration sources, the fire raged at around 0130 hrs early morning. It took police force and Army personnel of the 17 Garhwal Rifles along with fire fighters almost four hours to bring the fire under control. the cause of fire is yet to be established. The Rudraprayag traders today observed a bandh.
