DMK, DPI reaches understanding for Municipality polls

Chennai, Oct 26 (UNI) Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(DMK) and Dalit Panthers of India(DPI) today reached an understanding to contest for the post of Chairman and Vice-Chairman for the coming Municipality, Panchayat and Town Panchayat polls for Tamil Nadu on behalf of DPI.

A release from DMK office at Anna Arivalayam in the city said both the parties had chosen Nellikuppam for Municipality Chairman post and Cuddalore for Dy Chairman post. Chendurai and Pappireddypatti had been chosen for Panchayat Chairman post and for the Vice Chairman post, Kumbakonam, Vandavasi and Sankarapuram were selected.

For Town Panchayat post, Pennadam, Udayarpalayam, Bhuvanagiri and Kattumannar Kovil were selected, the release added.
