Curfew reimposed in Gharsana, Raola
Jaipur, Oct 26 (UNI) Curfew was reimposed in Gharsana and Raola in Ganganagar district today after tension mounted following death of a farmer in police lathicharge.
According to sources, 40-year-old Chanduram Saran died at Manjuwas village at his relative's place yesterday. Chanduram was seriously injured in police lathicharge and was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
However, his relatives alleged that Chanduram was forcefully discharged from hospital even though he was not fully fit.
Chanduram's body was taken to his ancestral village 10 LM but his relatives have refused to cremate his body.
They are demanding Rs five lakh compensation, jobs for dependants and booking the guilty policemen. They have refused to hand over Chanduram's body for post-mortem to ascertain the reasons for his death until their demands are met.
Hundreds of farmers have started arriving in 10 LM village to take Chanduram's body to Gharsana.
After the violent stir between police and farmers, curfew was imposed in Gharsana and Roala. As the situation improved, there was relaxation in day curfew from October 24.
