Copper, tin, nickel rise on better industrial demand

Mumbai, Oct 26 (UNI) Copper, tin and nickel rose today on better industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous section, copper heavy and brass utensils hiked by Rs 100 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively while brass cutting and aluminium utensils shot up by Rs 400 each per quintal on reduced stock supply.

In non-ferrous category, copper wire bars rose by Rs 300 per quintal on better buying support. But aluminium ingots and lead ingots fell by Rs 100 and Rs 50 per quintal respectively on sustained heavy selling pressure.

Tin slab went up by Rs four per kg while nickel cathode came down by Rs 15 per kg.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 36,900, copper utensils - Rs 32,800, brass utensils - Rs 23,000, brass cuttings - Rs 27,000 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,400.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 41,100, aluminium ingots - Rs 13,400, zinc slab - Rs 20,800, lead ingots - Rs 7,600, tin slab - Rs 565 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,985 (per kg).
