Guwahati, Oct 26 (UNI) The Asom United Democratic Front (AUDF) today alleged that the ruling Congress might resort to unfair means in the coming byelection to Jamunamukh Assembly seat in Central Asom.
AUDF secretary general H R A Choudhuri and party candidate Sirajuddin Ajmol told newsmen here that the AUDF had intimated the Election Commission and the Centre their apprehension of "rigging" by the Congress.
" We have requested the Election Commission and the Central government to prevent any rigging attempt by the ruling party during the byelection, " he said.
Releasing the party's poll manifesto for the bypoll, the AUDF candidate exuded confidence to win the election by a huge margin.

The AUDF candidate said he decided to contest the byelection as per popular wishes of the people of Jamunamukh and promised overall development of the backward constituency in the poll manifesto.
