Atal, Jaya Prada, Rajnath to campaign in UP local polls

Lucknow, Oct 26 (UNI) A galaxy of political stars, including former Prime minister and Lucknow MP Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BJP president Rajnath Singh and cine-star Jaya Prada will be seen in action during the much-hyped campaign for the Uttar Pradesh civic polls.

Mr Vajpayee would campaign for BJP mayoral candidate in Lucknow, while ruling Samajwadi Party's star-turned-politician and Lok Sabha member from Rampur Jaya Prada would also camp in the UP capital from tomorrow.

The former Prime Minister would reach hae tomorrow afternoon and stay till Saturday.

Ms Jaya prada would be addressing a public meeting in Chander Nagar area of Alambagh in the state capital on October 27.

At the same time, Mr Vajpayee would address a meeting in the same area, besides speaking at another meeting at Kapoorthala earlier in the day. BJP has fielded Dr Dinesh Sharma for the city's mayor seat.

BJP president Rajnath Singh is expected to address a couple of election meetings this evening in different parts of the city.

Prior to Mr Vajpayee's addresses, BJP national vice-president and in-charge of party's state affairs Kalyan Singh would address a public meeting at Rajajipuram today. He would also address the public at Munshipulia on October 28.

Congress general secretary and in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Ashok Gehlot would also be campaigning for party candidates from tomorrow.

Mr Gehlot would visit Aligarh and Agra tomorrow, while on October 28 he would address election meetings at Allahabad, Bareilly and Moradabad.
