Antiques worth Rs 57 lakhs stolen

Siwan, Oct 26 (UNI) Idols of God and Godess having high antique value were stolen from a temple located in G B Nagar police station in the district at wee hours today.

Deputy police superintendent Manoj Tiwari said burglers decamped with the idols of Lord Rama, Laxman, Sita and others from a temple.

Villagers lodged an FIR with concerned police station in this connection and mentioned the value of stolen statues as Rs 57 lakhs, he added.

Raids were being carried out to recover the statues, he said.
