3 held for swindling PACB in TN

Tiruchirapalli,Oct 26 (UNI) Sleuths of the Commercal Crime Investigation Wing (CCIW) of the state police today arrested three persons, including the secretary of a primary agricultural cooperative bank(PACB), on the charges of misappropriation of funds to the tune of Rs 1.64 lakh at Muthupudaiyanpatti Village near Manapparai here.

The CCIW said following a complaint from the Deputy Registrar of Cooperatives here on alleged misappropriation of funds in Muthupudaiyanpatti PACB, it registered a case and conducted a thorough probe.

The investigations showed PACB Secretary Venkatachalapathy (58) Clerk Vellakkannu (46) and watchman Raman (31) had swindled Rs 1.64 lakh during 2000-03 using forged documents.

A local court remanded the trio in judicial custody.
