Union MoS for Commerce Jairam Ramesh to visit Andamans
Port Blair, Oct 25 (UNI) The Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh will be on a two-day visit to remote Andaman and Nicobar Islands from tomorrow.
The Minister will be chairing a meeting of stake holders in Port Blair tomorrow. In the meeting, Central Agricultural Research Institute will make a presentation on aquaculture, an official release said here.
The Minister will be laying the foundation stone for Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Aquaculture at Kodiyaghat, a remote South Andaman Village on the same day. He is also scheduled to visit the tsunmai hit and Sea water inundated areas at Sippighat of South Andaman islands. In the evening, he will witness sound and light show at Cellular Jail complex.
The Minister will also visit Baratang island of Middle Andaman region on October 27. In the evening at 1700 hours on the same day, he will be holding a meeting with the Chief Secretary, Commissioners and Secretaries at the conference hall of Secretariat, the release added.
On completion of his visit, the Minister is scheduled to leave for Chennai on October 28.
