Punjab meet Karnataka in knockout stage of National Hockey
Jalandhar, Oct 25 (UNI) Former champions and host Punjab will take on Karnataka, while strong contenders Indian Airlines will take on a weak Jammu and Kashmir in the pre-quarter final knockout matches begining tomorrow at four centres in Punjab.
While Punjab wil meet Karnataka at the Olympian Surjit singh hockey stadium here, Indian Airlines will clash against J&K at Bhaini Sahib.
Another former champion Railways will meet Orissa at the GNDU campus in Amritsar. The other match billed for Amritsar will be between Chandigarh and Patiala.
Mumbai will clash with Chhattisgarh in the other match Jalandhar, while Delhi will take on Jharkhand at Bhaini Sahib.
In the matches at the PAU campus in Ludhiana, former champions Services will meet Bengal while Tamilnadu will clash against Haryana.
The eight winners from tomorrow encounters will move into the Super League stage where they will be joined by the three top teams playing in the associate members group in New Delhi. The super league commences on October 28.
