Psychiatry conference in Mangalore from Oct 27

Mangalore, Oct 25 (UNI) Over 500 delegates from the four Southern States and Puducherry will participate in the three-day 39th annual conference of Indian Psychiatric Society, South Zone, here from October 27.

Briefing newspersons here today, conference Organising Committee Chairman Dr K Krishna Murthy said the conference, with the theme 'Legal Aspects of Psychiatric Practice', would see the participation of psychiatrists, psychologists, neurologists, psychiatric social workers and post graduate students. The main objective of the conference, to be inaugurated by Prasar Bharti Chairman M V Kamat, was to create an awareness among psychiatrists and the public about the topic, he added.

A Continued Medical Programme on the theme 'Lesser known aspects of well known psychiatric disorders' would be held on October 27 to enhance the knowledge of psychiatrists about disorders like autism, schizo-affective disorders and personality disorders, he added.
