Nine-year-old girl raped in Surat

Surat, Oct 25 (UNI) A nine-year-old girl was raped in Poonagam area in the city, on Monday night, Kapodra police informed today.

According to a complaint filed by one Subharat Bhanu of Poonagam, a nine-year-old girl was raped by one Ram Kumar Gupta, on the night of October 23.

According to the complainant, the accused entered the house in at night, and physically assaulted the girl. He also tried to destroy the evidence, by washing the victim after the rape, police said.

A case against the accused, as per IPC sections 363, 377 and 201 has been registered. Police are investigating the matter.
