Jamnagar: Major fire breaks out in Reliance refinery

Jamnagar, Oct 25: A major fire broken out at a hydro-treatment plant located at the Reliance Petroleum campus here this morning.

According to official sources, the fire broke out around 1030 hrs in the Hydro-Treatment plant.

Meanwhile, a report says one person who sustained burn injuries in the incident has been admitted to a local hospital.

Fire brigade sources said the fire has been brought under control now and will be completely extinguished soon. Fire fighters from the Reliance campus, Jamnagar city and surrounding areas have been pressed into service, they said.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage is yet to be ascertained, they added.

The hydroplant has been completely shutdown and according to preliminary reports it will take at least two weeks to resume operations.
