Govt Executive Engineer arrested charges in Mizoram

Aizawl, Oct 25 (UNI) Mizoram police have arrested an executive engineer of the state Public Health Engineering (PHE) department on charges of misapproprating money to the tune of Rs 36.75 lakh.

Police here today informed that following an FIR filed by the chief engineer, PHE department, Zoliansanga, an executive engineer in charge of the planning division was arrested in this connection.

It has been learned that the accused had pilfered money while he was in charge of sewerage division from which he had recently been transferred.

The engineer has been remanded to three days police custody for further questioning.
