GNLF leader shot dead In Darjeeling

Siliguri, Oct 25 (UNI) The newly-floated United Gorkha Revolutionary Army (UGRA) ultras gunned down a Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) leader at Kalimpong in Darjeeling district yesterday.

Superintendent of Police Rajesh Subarna said here today that the ultras swooped down on the residence of the deceased, and pumped bullets indiscriminately killing Yon Sing Lepcha on the spot.

He stated that the deceased upped the ante against the militant activities of the UGRA trying to create a separate Gorkhaland state.

A posse of police force had rushed to the spot and a major combing operation was launched.
