CM offers Eid prayers at Hazratbal shrine in Kashmir
Srinagar, Oct 25 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today offered Eid prayers at Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar where over 2.50 lakh Muslims knelt in supplication.
It was the largest Eid congregation during the last two decades in Hazratbal.
Former Chief Ministers Farooq Abdullah and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Member Parliament Omar Abdullah, MLAs Dr Mustafa Kamal and Mohammad Sayeed Akhoon also offered Eid prayers at Hazratbal besides oother distinguished political and social representatives.
The Imam (Head priest)of Hazratbal shrine complemented the meticulous arrangements made this year for ensuring smooth conduct of such a large gathering.
Besides Hazratbal, Eid prayers were also held at Jamia Masjid Srinagar, Polo Ground, Sonawar and various other mosques and religious places in Srinagar.
Similar reports of Eid entreaties having been offered from various districts of Anantnag, Pulwama, Bugdam, Kupwara, Baramulla, Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch and Doda districts have been received.
