Car-bus collision kills 3, injures 5 in Gujarat

Anand, Gujarat, Oct 25 (UNI) Three members of a family, including a middle-aged couple, died on the spot while five others sustained injuries when a car collided with a state transport bus on Vasad-Bagodara highway near Vasad village, about 18 km from here, today.

According to the police, the incident took place around 0815 hrs when a car, carrying seven members of the family, proceeding to Saurashtra from Surat, collided with a Gujarat State Road and Transport Corporation (GSRTC) bus plying between Khambhat and Vadodara.

The injured includes six-month-old son Neelkumar of the deceased couple. The deceased have been identified as Geetben Kukadiya, Bharat Kukadiya (30) and his wife Shilaben (25). The driver of the bus was also injured. The injured are being treated at the civil hospital at Karamsad town.

The family was going to Saurashtra for some rituals of Neelkumar, police added.
