BJP accuses UPA of myopic mngt of security issue
New Delhi, Oct 25: Expressing concern over the ''comical views'' of the top echelons in the Government on security matters in the country, the BJP today said the Centre displayed a lack of direction and termed the handling of Mumbai blasts ''myopic management''.
BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad quoted statements made by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on various occasions and said, ''This kind of flip-flop on the part of the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Home Secretary and National Security Advisors encouraged Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf to comment that India should first set its house in order before pointing fingers at Pakistan for promoting terrorism.'' ''Such confusion at the highest levels, especially when the Prime Minister says that Pakistan itself was a 'victim of terror', will give leverage to that country to foment, encourage and sponsor cross-border terrorism,'' he said.
''The BJP demands that the UPA government put an end to playing havoc with national security,'' Mr Prasad said.
