Betting racket busted,5 arrested for betting on Lanka-S Africa matc

New Delhi, Oct 25 (UNI) In an ongoing drive against gambling on cricket matches, five persons were arrested for betting on the Sri Lanka-South Africa cricket match yesterday.

While three persons were arrested for betting on cricket matches from East Patel Nagar in West Delhi, two others were nabbed from West Delhi's Ramesh Nagar.

The accused had indulged in betting to the tune of Rs six lakh when these were arrested.

A case under the gambling Act has been registered against the accused.

The police also recovered from their possession a TV set, recording machine, mobile phones and calculators.
