A 57-year-old farmer commits suicide unable to clear debts
Madikeri, Oct 25 (UNI) A 57-year-old farmer committed suicide unable to cope with the burden of debt, at Bettada Koppa village in Somwarpet taluk yesterday.
Police said that Mr Shabnthappa committed suicide by hanging himself to the roof of a cow shed behind his house.
Shabnthappa was worried about Rs One lakh loan raised and could not repay due to crop loss. Moreover his daughters wedding was due next month, family sources said.
