West Bengal to have strong presence in Bangalore IT.in

Bangalore, Oct 24 (UNI) Showcasing its strengths on the Information Technology and IT enabled Services sectors, West Bengal will have a strong presence in Bangalore IT.in, beginning here on October 28.

The four-day event would see an eight-member delegation, led by West Bengal IT Minister Debesh Das, pitching hard the selling points of the Eastern State in wooing new IT and ITeS investments.

The delegation members would include West Bengal IT Secretary Siddharth, WEBEL MD Debanjan Das, apart from top IT infrastructure developers of Kolkata, a West Bengal Government release here said today.

The State had taken up 120 sq.m at the venue to set up the 'Bengal Pavilion.' The stall had been designed to facilitate networking and business meetings between delegates and visitors. The IT Minister would be available every day for an hour to address an open forum and all visitors who walk into the pavilion.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr Siddharth said ''West Bengal has emerged as a truly attractive IT and ITeS investment destination with major domestic and MNC IT companies having already started operations here and planning to expand in Kolkata. Bengal commands several advantages such as skilled manpower, reasonable labour, low cost of operations, good infrastructure and surplus power that make it an ideal destination and at this fair, we shall try and communicate all these advantages to our target audience.''
