Violin maestro R R Keshava Murthy passes away
Bangalore, Oct 24 (UNI) Violin maestro R R Keshava Murthy died here last night after a brief illness.
He was 90. He is survived by six daughters and one son.
Mr Murthy, a close associate of legendary violinist late T Chowdaiah, excelled in playing the seven-string violin once used by him (Chowdaiah). He had been given many awards including Kendra Sangeeta Nataka Academy Award and Kanakapurandara Award.
Mr Murthy had also penned 14 books, some of them epics, on music.
He also trained a number of people in carnatic music.
A large number of music lovers paid their last respect to the departed soul. The mortal remains of the veteran musician was consigned to flames this morning.
