Tension in Ajmer over cracker bursting

Ajmer, Oct 24 (UNI) Tension erupted between two communities in Muslim-dominated Longiya area here today over bursting of crackers during Diwali.

The police had to resort to firing air pellets to disperse the agitated crowd.

According to sources, a dispute between two communities over bursting of crackers on Diwali had made the area tense.

When a police team reached the site today, Longiya resident Dr Shoaib and a few others started pelting stones.

Some Hindus also started pelting stones at them.

Meanwhile, the peace committee is holding its meeting. According to police, the situation is under control.
