Lucknow, Oct 24 (UNI) Senior journalist and Managing Editor of CNN-IBN news channel Rajdeep Sardesai, who was summoned in the Uttar Pradesh assembly on October 27, will now be present in the House on November 10.

The business advisory committee of the assembly today decided to extend the sitting of the House to November 10, which was to sit on October 27.

Principal secretary (assembly) Rajendra Prasad Pandey said here tonight the sitting of the House was extended by the committee following persuasion by members due to the ongoing civic polls process.

The assembly also directed the state special secretary (home) to produce Mr Sardesai under police custody on November 10.

Meanwhile, sources said the Managing Editor of the news channel would be produced under police custody as per the resolution of the state assembly and the house was yet to recieve any direction from the Supreme Court.

On October 11, the assembly speaker had directed to produce under police custody Mr Sardesai for not cooperating with the House committee probing the sting operation conducted by the channel against three MLAs in February.

The preliminary report submitted by the committee held the channel responsible for derailing the probe by not attending the meeting besides refusing to deliver the unedited video print of the sting operation.

Mr Sardesai had approached the Supreme Court on the issue, but the apex court suggested to present himself in the house on the day.
