Man kills 3 daughters, self after losing in Diwali gambling

Varanasi, Oct 24 (UNI) Peeved over awful financial state compounded by loss of savings in Diwali gambling, a man poisoned himself and his three minor daughters in Chowk area here today.

Police said Chotu Kasera (30) consumed poison after administering it to his three daughters Anjali (7), Sonali (6) and Manjari (4) in Kashipura locality this afternoon.

A small time worker in a shop, Chotu's earnings insufficient to take provide for the family.

On Diwali night, Chotu indulged in gambling, but lost all his money, police added.

Police suspected Chotu's frustration over losing in the gamble to be the reason behind the extreme step.
