IIL bags Corporate Social Responsibility Award
Hyderabad, Oct 24 (UNI) The Hyderabad-based Indian Immunologicals Ltd (IIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) bagged the best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award for its remarkable programme 'Operation Pratirodh' at Animal Pharm's inaugural animal Health Industry Excellence Awards held in London.
An IIL release here today said Animal Pharm-UK conferred the CSR (including animal welfare measures, MUMS activity and environmental care) Award on IIL Hyderabad for its remarkable programme to make cattle vaccination affordable and accessible to rural Indian farmers and for its outstanding contribution and services to the rural farmers. The award was sponsored by Informa Life Sciences.
IIL was the only company outside the developed world companies, which won an award this year. The award was received by its Managing Director K V Balasubramaniam at a ceremony held in East Wintergarden Hall at London's Docklands recently.
The Operation Pratirodh programme provided scientific information to farmers regarding diseases affecting cattle and prophylactic measures to protect them. Through this division, IIL provided vaccination services for cattle at economical rates. This division was started to bring immunization closer to the villages and make it sustainable, it added.
