New Delhi, Oct 24 (UNI) Indo Asian Fusegear Ltd (IAFL), India's leading manufacturer of electrical equipments and switchgears, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BSES Rajdhani and Yamuna, to promote Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) and Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers (ELCB) to their consumers.

The MoU entails a scheme to provide energy conservation and electrical safety products to consumers of BSES, in South, East and West Delhi.

Each 11 watt CFL costs Rs 135, the 15 watt CFL is at Rs 150, while the 20 watt CFL costs Rs 200. However, under this scheme, the offer is a 'Buy One Get One Free' offer, or a 50 per cent flat on the manufacturing price (MRP), enabling the consumer to pay half of the MRP of CFL.

The scheme is up to December 31, 2006, extendable on mutual agreement.

A consumer of BSES would get one CFL free with each CFL bought from any kiosk of IAFL or the 80 customer care centres of BSES on producing a copy of his electricity bill.

On protection devices, BSES consumer will get a 25 per cent discount on the MRP along with free installation advice on ELCB of Indo Kopp MCBs and other ELCBs.

''We are providing CFLs to BSES consumers at the lowest possible price. The scheme is underway only in New Delhi for the time being.

We will expand the scheme into other states after their State Electricity Boards agree on model,'' IAFL CMD V P Mahendru said.

The objective is to bring down the consumption of energy in the city by providing effective and economic ways to consumers to encourage energy savings, he added.

IAFL is a manufacturer of LT Electrical switchgear equipment producing a wide range of electrical circuit protection equipment including distribution boards, switch boards, switch panels, fuse switches, MCCBs, HRC Fuses, MCBs, RCDs etc.

The company exports CFLs to Europe, Middle East and Africa, and recently launched the Hausmann range of premium electrical products in Nepal and Sri Lanka.

It recently entered into a JV with Spain's Simon Holding, to manufacture intelligent switching systems in India, and has bagged orders worth Rs 21 crore from Saudi National Lamp and Electrical Limited, Saudi Arabia.
