Dr S K Saidapur to be new VC of Karnatak University

Bangalore, Oct 24 (UNI) Dr S K Saidapur was today appointed the new Vice-Chancellor of the Dharwad-based Karnatak University by Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi.

Prof Sidapur, serving as Professor of Zoology, would hold the office for five years from the date of taking charge or till he attained the age of 65 years, whichever was earlier, a communique from the Governor's Secretariat here said.

The University did not have a full time Vice-Chancellor since July last year after the tenure of Prof M Khajapeer had come to an end. Hitherto, Dr A Murigappa, Senior Most Dean, had been heading the varsity as Acting Vice-Chancellor.
