CPI(M) seeks replacement of dist incharge Ministers
Mysore, Oct 24 (UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist) today urged the Karnataka Government to remove district incharge Ministers of sensitive areas like Dakshina Kannada and Chikmagalur to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.
Addressing mediapersons here, CPI(M) State Secretary G N Nagaraj said Dakshina Kannada district incharge Minister B Nagaraja Shetty and his Chikmagalur counterpart D H Shankaramurthy have failed to maintain peace in their respective districts and solve issues like communal clashes and Datta Jayanthi celebrations.
He alleged that both Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad were mainly responsible for the ''organised'' communal violence in Dakshina Kannada district and the cow slaughter incident was just an excuse for them.
Mr Nagaraj urged the Government not to allow any kind of yatras and bhajans at Datta Peetha in Babubudangiri hills in Chikmagalur district during the Datta Jayanti celebrations on December three.
