BJP alleges neglect of Telangana by Cong govt
Hyderabad, Oct 24 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Secretary B Dattattreya today alleged that the Congress Government in Andhra Pradesh is neglecting the Telangana region after coming to power by encashing on the 'Telangana' sentiment in the 2004 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
Posing a series of questions to Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, the BJP leader, in a statement claimed that in unified Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana region is meted out 'injustice' in all fields, causing irreparable damage.
Was not the promise to set up medical and engineering colleges in Telangana region made with an eye on the Karimnagar Lok Sabha byelection, he asked. What happened to the promised Regional Engineering College (REC) and Medical College for the region.? After Mr Reddy's announcement of setting up of three universities in three regions, only work on the Vemana University in Kadapa is progressing briskly. Is this not like treatment meted out to an ''adopted son'', he alleged.
