Five members of family die in road accident in Punjab

Ludhiana, Oct 22 (UNI) Five members of a family were killed and two others injured when the car in which they were travelling collided head-on with a truck near Mandi Ahmedgarh town yesterday, police today stated.

According to the police, Ajaib Singh was returning home alongwith his family to Dhuri after giving Diwali gifts to his married daughter in Ludhiana. When they reached near Mandi Ahmedgarh, a truck coming from the opposite direction collided with their car, killing five of them on the spot.

The deceased were identified as Ajaib Singh. his wife Rajinder Kaur, son Paramjit Singh and his father-in-law Surjan Singh. The fifth deceased was three-year old Mehzaban, son of Paramjit.

The injured were two girls aged six and seven years. They were admitted to the civil hospital in Mandi Ahmedgarh.
