Varsity to complain against 2 bookshops for black mktg exam forms
Nagpur, Oct 21 (UNI) Concerned over complaints that private bookshops were selling scarce examination forms in the black market, Nagpur University has decided to file police complaints against two shops in Wardha and Chandrapur.
Instructions had been issued for police complaints to be filed against a bookshop each in Wardha and Chandrapur for selling the forms at a premium, Vice Chancellor S N Pathan told newsmen here yesterday.
A team of officials from the University have left for the two towns to complete the necessary formalities, he said.
Mr Pathan said he had also ordered the practice of selling the forms through private outlets be discontinued forthwith. All examination forms would be available online on the University's website soon, he said.
The action was initiated after complaints that forms for the forthcoming examinations were being sold at a premium at several places, including private outlets, Mr Pathan said. There was apparently a thriving black market for the forms this year as there was a huge shortage, he said.
The shortage was created after he cancelled a tender for purchase of paper for printing the forms since the rate quoted was exorbitant, the V C said. Procurement of the paper took time, leading to a delay in the printing and the consequent shortage, he added.
