Four police personnel suspended in Tripura
Agartala, Oct 19: Four state police including, an Officer-in -Charge of a police station in North district and a jail police personnel, were suspended, while three jail police personnel were fined in West district respectively of Tripura recently.
According to official sources here today, four police personnel including Officer-in-Charge of Panisagar police station under Dharmanagar sub-division, were suspended from service temporarily on charges of alleged forcible collection of subscription for the kali puja from vehicles.
On getting complaint, SDPO of Dharmanagar conducted an inquiry and reported to the the North District Superintendent of Police Uttam Majumder, who, ordered on Tuesday for their suspension.
In another incident, a jail policeman of Sonamura in West District was suspended and three other of his collegues were fined for physical abuse on October 10.
The Jail Superintendent of Sonamura informed the I G (prison) who ordered for an inquiry into the incident. After completion of the inquiry, the punishment order was issued on Tuesday against the accused for deriliction of duty, sources added.
