Force10 forays into India with 10 GbE security box
New Delhi, Oct 19 (UNI) In a bid to tap the seven billion dollars networking market, US-based Force10 Networks today lauched its 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) box 'Force10 P-series', a local-area network (LAN) architecture, in India.
''Seeing the prospect that India will boom in 10 GbE market within a couple of year, we are now in India with our latest innovation to tap the major portion of revenues,'' Force10 Networks Asia Pacific Sales Vice President Gary Jackson told reporters here.
He added that presently the market size is for three billion dollars and expects to reach seven billion dollars by 2007-08.
The Force10 P-series, in the price range of 10,000-20,000 dollars inspects, monitors, captures and blocks traffic at line-rate 10 Gigabit speeds, thereby ensuring the highest level of security.
Mr Jackson said he would set up sales team consisting of 4-6 members by the end of this year, which will initially look after Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi after one year.
The company is looking at all telecom providers, data centres, research centres for offering its product, Mr Jackson said.
He said that he expects about 5 per cent of total revenue of the company from Indian market, saying that in the next five years, Indian market would grow up to 60 per cent as compared to China.
The company will expand its Chennai-base Research and Development up to 150 by next year, Company's Vice President (Engineering) Sachi Sambandan said, adding that presently, it has 90 employees.
He, however, informed that its strength of technical assistance team would be increased to 20 from the present 8 by next year.
