Courts directives on several issues
Patna, Oct 19 (UNI) Patna High court today directed the state government to fumigate all the localities here to prevent mosquito breeding keeping in view the dengue menace.
The court also has asked the concerned department to inform the court through affidavit by November five carrying signatures of local people about the actions taken to prevent spread of dengue.
While hearing a PIL, a division bench of the court of Justice Narayan Rai and Seema Ali expressed dissatisfaction over the progress made by the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) in taking up the preventive measures.
The state government in its affidavit had mentioned that there was no case of dengue in Bihar and the three patients admitted at the Patna Medical college Hospital had carried the infection from Delhi.
Hearing another PIL on the same issue, another division bench of the Chief Justice J N Bhatt and Shailesh Kumar Sinha had directed, the state government to make all necessary arrangements in the medical colleges sufficient for pathological test of dengue.
To another PIL the court of Mr Rai and Ms Ali directed the state government to advertise in the newspapers about the ban of polythenes and initiate legal action against those using them.
The same bench asked the PMC to immediately remove garbages and clean the entire town, sources said.
It also asked the water board to ensure supply of pure and safe drinking water.
