Committee formed to monitor progress in naxal-hit areas
Bangalore, Oct 19 (UNI) The Karnataka Government has constituted a Committee to monitor the activities of extremist organisations such as naxals in the State.
The Committee, under the Chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner, would also review the progress of Government action in implementing developmental schemes and solving socio-economic problems in naxal-affected districts, according to an official release here today.
The Home Department Principal Secretary would be the Convenor of the Committee. The other members would be Principal Secretaries of Social Welfare, Forest, Housing and Health and Family Welfare Departments, Secretaries of RDPR and Primary and Secondary Education Departments, Commissioner of Information, Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, IGP (Intelligence) and IGP (Anti-Terrorist Cell), the release added.
