Youth League demands resignation of Kerala Home Minister
Kozhikode, Oct 18 (UNI) The Kerala State Muslim Youth League (KSMYL) today urged Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan to expel Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishan from the Cabinet for 'misusing government funds' on renovation of his official residence.
Mr Balakrishan had spent Rs 17 lakh for renovation of the Manmohan Bunglow at Thrivuruvanthapuram at a time when the state was facing acute financial crisis and had no moral right to continue in office, KSMYL general K M Shaji claimed.
He also demanded similar action against other Ministers, who had misusing the state exchequer on 'renovation extravaganza'.
The youth leader said a concerted effort was being made by the CPI(M) heading the ruling coalition in the state to protect these Ministers by falsely implicating bureaucrats in the issue.
