Punjabi folklorist chosen for 'Folklorist of the year' award
New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) Renowned Punjabi folklorist Gurmit Singh was today chosen for the 'Folklorist of the year' award by the 'International Observer' news magazine.
Announcing this here today, the chief editor of the 'International Observer' news magazine Jaswinder Singh Bhullar said Dr Singh of the Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar would be presented the award at a special function in Amritsar on October 23.
Dr Singh has contributed three books on Punjabi folklore and presented more than 50 research papers on folklore in national and international conferences.
