Mizoram to attain highest per capita income: Zoramthanga
Aizawl, Oct 17 (UNI) Mizoram Chief minister Zoramthanga today claimed that his state was progressing fast to become the highest per capita income state in the country by 2007.
While addressing a small gathering at Raj Bhavan where President APJ Abdul Kalam was present, he said ''My government is working out a comprehensive plan especially to utilise the vast land in the agricultural area to increse the per capita income''.
''With the existing peace in the state, the government has derived a new scheme especially for the farmers for a sustained income'', he added.
Mr Zoramthanga also disclosed that his government has planned to set up clusters of small value addition bamboo processing units to generate large employment opportunities for youths.
''We should use the management personnel, industrial experts and business houses to provide international market connectivity for our bamboo products leading to sustainable growth, wealth generation and positive contribution to the growth of Mizoram's gross domestic product'', he stressed.
