LAWDA Chairperson, 8 officers shifted in JK

Srinagar, Oct 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the transfer of nine senior bureaucrats, including the chairperson of the Lakes And Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA).

The State Cabinet, which met here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, probably for the last time before the seat of the government is shifted to winter capital, Jammu, has approved the transfers and postings in the administration with immediate effect, an official spokesman said today.

He said Ms Tanveer Jehan, Vice Chairperson, LAWDA has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary to Government, Power Development Department vice Mr B D Sharma who has been transferred and posted as Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Jammu vice Vinod Koul.

The charge of the post of Vice Chairman, J&K Lakes and Waterways Development Authority will additionally be held by Basharat Ahmad Dhar, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir till a suitable substitute is posted against the said post.

Mr S S Kapur, Principal Secretary to Government, Industries and Commerce Department has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary to Government, Planning and Development Department, Mr A S Sidhu, Chairman, Bureau of Public Enterprises will hold additional charge of the post of Principal Secretary to Government, Information Technology and Science and Technology Departments, Mr Lokesh Dutt Jha, Commissioner to Government, Information Technology and Science and Technology Department has been transferred and posted as Commissioner to Government, Industries and Commerce Department.

Sheikh Nissar Ahmad, Registrar Cooperative Societies, has been transferred and posted as Secretary in the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department. He will take over as Secretary to Government of the said Department on the retirement of Dr Mohammad Deen on December 31, 2006.

He said Mr Vinod Koul, Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Jammu has been transferred and posted as OSD in the Relief Organisation (Migrants), Jammu. He will take over as Relief Commissioner (Migrants), Jammu on the retirement of Mr K Mohinder Singh on December 31, 2006.

Dr G N Qasba, Managing Director, J&K Tourism Development Corporation has been transferred and posted as Registrar, Cooperative Societies, J&K in his own pay and grade on ex-cadre basis vice Sheikh Nissar Ahmad. Dr Qasba shall retain lien in his parent department/organisation and Mr Aziz Wani, awaiting orders of adjustment in the Tourism Department has been posted as Managing Director, J&K Tourism Development Corporation.
