K'taka Govt releases subsidy for mini tractors, farm quipment

Bangalore, Oct 17 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today ordered the Finance Department to release subsidy for farmers to purchase mini tractors, power tillers and other farm equipment.

An announcement to this effect was made in an official release here.

The Chief Minister's instructions came in the wake of media reports that the programmes to distribute farm equipment was being organised by officials, though the Government had not released the subsidy.

New equipment was being borrowed from dealers just for the purpose of organising the programmes and they were being taken back soon after the functions were over, the reports had alleged.
