Hooda asks UK businessmen to invest in Haryana
Chandigarh, Oct 17 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today interacted with CEOs, NRIs and entrepreneurs from UK at Asia House in London during the ongoing CII -'Government of Haryana International Mission to Europe' and invited them to invest in his state.
The interactive session was organised by CII London in partnership with Indo-British Partnership Network.
Mr Karan Bilimoria, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Cobra Beer and Chairman, Indo British Partnership Network welcomed the Chief Minister and mentioned that both India especially the state of Haryana and UK had enormous potential for increased partnership.
He added that the recent visit of the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and that of Mr Hooda to UK epitomises the strong relationship between the two countries.
The Chief Minister in his address mentioned that UK was the fifth largest investor in India and Haryana had seen considerable FDI coming from UK.
He stressed on the need for creating public-private partnerships (PPPs) and strong infrastructure in order to increase investment and mutual trade.
While talking on the industry perspective, Mr Adesh Gupta, Chairman, CII Northern Region and leader of the Industry Mission, highlighted the fast pace of industrial growth in Haryana. He further mentioned that CII was committed to strengthen Indo-British partnership.
Earlier in the day the Chief Minister along with the key government officials visited JCB headquarters in London. Sir Anthony Bamford, Chairman JCB welcomed the delegation and showcased the state-of-the-art technologies of JCB. During the visit, Sir Bamford mentioned about JCB's interest in their future expansion plan in Ballabgarh in Faridabad district.
