Cavalry Red sinks Indian Navy 9-5 in Bank Bhopal-Pataudi Cup

New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) Cavalry Red downed Indian Navy 9-5 in the opening match of the Deutsche Bank Bhopal-Pataudi Cup Polo Tournament here today.

In the opener of the first tournament of the Delhi Fall Polo Season, Exequiel Kraft, a five-goal player from Argentina, opened the account for Cavalry Red with a spot hit penalty before Lt Cdr A Sangha equalised but Tunku Ismail and Kraft scored one goal each in the same chukker to keep the Cavalry Red ahead.

In the second chukker Cavalry Red scored three goals while Indian Navy scored only one. In the third chukker, Cavalry Red scored again dominated, scoring two goals agains Indian Navy's one and the score read 8-3 in favour of Cavalry Red.

In the last and final chukker, Indian Navy scored two goals to reduced the margin but Cavalry Red scored one goal to make it 9-5 in their favour.

The scorers for Cavalry Red were Exequiel Kraft (4), Lt Col Tarun Sirohi (2) and HH Lt Tunku Ismail (3) while Lt Akhil Sirohi (2), Lt Cdr AP Singh(1), Maj Navjit Sandhu (1) and Lt Cdr A Sangha (1) scored for the Indian Navy.
