Special Diwali episode of L'IL CHAMPS shot in Varanasi

Varanasi, Oct 16 (UNI) Unsuccessful attempt by anchor-singer Shaan to drive a rickshaw and visually impaired prodigy Diwakar Sharma joining music director Bappi Lahiri in singing a famous Bollywood number were mainstays of special Diwali episode of 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'IL CHAMPS' shot on the banks of river Ganga here last evening.

The special episode was shot at a fully packed Rajendra Prasad Ghat -- on the 80 odd ghats dotting the Ganga river -- with the three finalists Sanchita, Diwakar and Samir all drawing triple A+ from the three judges Abhijeet, Alka Yagnik and Bappi Lahiri, amid colourful fireworks in the sky.

While Mumbai lad Samir struck chord with the ancient city with 'Khaike Paan Banaras Wala', New Delhi's Diwakar stole the heart of one and all by raising the truly Banarasi greeting of Har Har Mahadev, even as the large Bengali populace present rooted for Kolkata's Sanchita.

The show ended with Bappi Lahiri joining his favourite Diwakar to sing 'Ki Page Ghunghroo' from Big B starrer Namak Halal.
