Kalpana Chawla memorial to be completed by February
Chandigarh, Oct 16 (UNI) The prestigious Memorial Planetarium, being set up at Jyotisar near Kurukshetra in memory of Indian born US-Astronaut Kalpana Chawla is likely to be completed by February next year.
The building of the memorial has already been constructed and the equipment is being installed inside the Memorial which would cost Rs 6.50 crore, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said here today.
Mr Chander Mohan, who also holds the Science and Technology portfolio, said the memorial was being set up on 50:50 sharing basis by the Union Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the State Government. He said the State Government as well as the Central Government had already released their share of Rs 3.25 crore each to the National Council for Science Museum, Kolkata, which had already purchased the equipment for installation inside the Memorial.
